Train VS Vehicle

On Tuesday morning at approximately 6:45, a vehicle was struck by a train as they crossed the tracks on Raider Hollow Rd in Munfordville. Operator David Ash did not notice the signal and crossed as the train entered the crossing. The truck was thrown from the crossing and rested about 50 feet away. Tool boxes and other items that were in the truck were thrown over 100 feet into a near by field. Ash was not injured and walked away from the accident. Ash was checked out by the Hart County Ambulance service and assisted by Munfordville Fire and Rescue, Munfordville Police, and Kentucky State Police.

We would like to remind everyone to use caution when crossing tracks. Please watch for crossing signals and never attempt to cross if a train is approaching or signal is activated.
