Meth, Guns, and Body Armor

On Saturday, July 6, 2019, Deputy Steven Shields and Deputy Caleb Butler received a call of an assault with shots fired on Aetna Furnace Highway. Prior to and upon arrival, multiple suspects fled the scene and one person was detained by Deputies. After investigation, 3 rifles, Kevlar body armor and over 10 grams of Methamphetamine were located. Arrested was Christian A. Ward, age 27, from Shelbyville, KY, on the charges of: -Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense Greater than 2 Grams of Methamphetamine -3 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon -Persistent Felony Offender, 1st Ward was lodged in the Hart County Jail and was granted No Bond. The investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
