A Leitchfield woman has been arrested after she allegedly drove under the influence with her grandchild in the car.
The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest on Sunday afternoon.
A deputy saw a Chevy sedan cross the yellow line while driving on Highway 259N. They say the car was also missing a driver-side mirror.
When officials stopped the car, 56-year-old Theresa Taymon was found driving, with her four-year-old grandchild in the car.
Taymon went through a field sobriety test and was found to be under the influence of drugs.
After a K-9 gave a positive indication on her car, officials searched Taymon and the car, finding meth.
Taymon was arrested on the scene, charged with Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree/Methamphetamine, Operating Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Drugs, 1st Offense, and No Rearview Mirror.
She was taken to the Hart County Jail.
