Raiders Basketball

On Saturday, January 19, the Raiders traveled to Washington County where they fell short 66-72. John Shoulders lead the way with 26 points and Brayden Bell right behind him with 25 points.

Tuesday night Raiders travelled to Nelson County, again with John Shoulders leading the way for the Raiders.

With 18 points in 1stQtr. the Raiders never let up. John Shoulders was on fire, with 9 more points in the 2ndQtr., giving him a total of 27 points in the 1sthalf. Jordon Burden picked up the scoring in the 3rd Qtr., hitting three pointers and John Shoulders received an additional 11 points in the 3rdQtr. Hart County Raiders won 79-60. John Shoulders led the way scoring 40 points and Jordon Burden ended with 13 points.

Game three of the week was a District game at Green County. Raiders were ready for this game, as well as last Tuesday at Nelson County. Raiders knew that a win would place them in, at least, a 2ndplace spot in the District Tournament. All of the Raiders were on top of their game. Four players scored in the double digits with John Shoulders leading way with 23 points, he was followed by Braydon Bell with 20 points. Braydon had six 3-pointers for the game. Jordon Burden had four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, Travis Shuffitt added four more 3-pointers with a couple of shots at the free throw line giving him a total of 14 points. The team had a total of fifteen 3-pointers and made an incredible 20 of 23 free throws for the game. Green County made a run in the 4thQtr., making a game within two points before Raiders hit the last of the free throws coming down in the last few seconds. Raiders came away with a win 83-78. 

Game four all within seven days the Raiders travel to John Hardin to play North Hardin in the Nathan McCurry Classic. The Raiders started the game playing North Hardin with a 25-19 1stQtr. Jordon Burden kept the Raiders close, scoring 10 points in the 1st Qtr. North Hardin went on a 20-6 point run in 2ndQtr., taking a 20-point lead at halftime.  John Shoulders and Jordon Burden lead the team back within 9 points and only 1:50 left on the clock. Raiders just didn’t have the time for the comeback and the game ended with a final score 62-78. John Shoulders led the way with 23 points, Jordon Burden with 20 points, and Braydon Bell added 7 points.

*Raider will play Green County on Tuesday Jan. 29, and Nelson Co. on Feb. 2nd both games will be at Home
